They just sent me an invite to interview for this apartment. I see it's only studios and 1 bedrooms. I have no CB n I'm sure there are so many other ppl still waiting. Idk if I should even waste my time or not. Are there a lot of vacant 1 bedrooms still?

I also received the same notice with a September 15th deadline. I haven't heard anything after multiple emails.

From reading about people's experience, some people see the unit before signing other documents for HDC, others (like Picuco) see the unit after they are approved. Which building did they invite you for viewing, 435 w 31 str, to another building?
I am in for 2 Buildings this being one of them with CB pref on both my log here is #1XX yes super low i was called late due to my pref not being marked on my application probably an internal error
he said they need to process my application first due to preference so i signed everything at once interview was 3 weeks ago will be seeing a unit this week i still don't know how this works they checked my credit the following day i had all my paper work from previous lottery in order just had to add a letter so we shall see

As we all know the process for these lotteries are very stressful and can make you ansty! I have been called 3 times for different apartments. First time I was 18 and was denied because I was $200 over. Second time I was offered a place right across from a cemetery in the Bronx. Pretty scary for a young 20 year old at the time, so I didn't bother going to the interview. Now I was selected for an interview for 435 west 31st Log #2XXX. I had my interview on Sept 1 and was approved for the next step. My intake/ eligibility specialist said I had to get signed verification from my bank, landlord and employer. (did anyone else have to do this?) I had five business days to have all forms signed (which was completed and brought back to same day, Sept 1). Her reply was “wow that was fast, I’m going to send it off to my manager for approvalâ€. My intake specialist has been very responsive thus far in regards of phone calls and email replies. I emailed two weeks later for an update on my paper work and all I got back was "We just have to wait, hope all is well with you!!". Now I’ve read threads where you are approved then go back on a waiting list, paper work gets lost, or just over or under in income after approval. How frustrating! I’m glad my life is filled with things to do to keep my mind occupied but its still in the back of my head! Just thought id share my journey with Breaking Ground.

Good lucky to everyone!

Hey Ibeyi! I've got a question. When I applied to this place I was making just the right amount of salary to qualify (roughly 37.5k/year), I recently got the email to schedule my interview, however about 4 months ago I decided to go part time at my job for some free time during the summer. So my salary looks more like 19k/year now, and my last 6 pay stubs reflects that. However, I also have about 16,XXX in savings. Do you think I'm still eligible?

Just chiming in here...16K in savings wont help you. All they do is add .06% (or something like that) of that to your salary. If your last 6 stubs reflect a 19K income, then you will be disqualified.

You literally just screwed yourself out of this process, at least for this development. they do this by the books to the penny. Your income will now be calculated at that lower income. these lotteries are so notorious where you need to be at a stable income at least 6 months prior to applying and a year later, sometimes two years later. it's crazy.

One question. I definitely meet the salary income, but I've done some overtime on some of my paystubs and I think I'm a little over the income amount. My paystubs say the amount I did on that pay period. Do you think they'll add it up?

Yes. If your last 6 pay stubs show anything over the max, you're out. You MUST fall in between the range. Now, what you can try to do is get a notarized letter from your supervisor stating that the overtime was a one time thing and you will no longer do OT. It might work...someone here had to do that but I forget the outcome....
