Well, it was a couple rides and a PATH for 1 hour+ of travel time. And the PATH would not take off for the longest time, it was jammed full and stunk bad. I almost stepped off to breath. I kept hoping it would take off any second as I only had 2 stops to go...but nope. (I was right near the open doors and it still stunk terrible! Don't know what it smelled like in the middle of the train.)

I can't read, I get motion sick. If I'm on the E train going to WTC I can try to nap a little as I wont miss the last stop.

I guess you got the rich of Wall Street riding with the rest of the people on the subways...or do they take limos and avoid the subway?

When the cars aren't packed, in the summer, and the AC is on full blast, and you're headed to the beach after just gotten in, they are a DREAM! In the middle of Winter when it's balls sweaty packed like a sardine can and you are forced to smell everyone's menses, pits, butt cracks, and farts? no way. YUCK

Another guy was mad people would not crowd in more as he was trying to get on. He wanted to fight everyone, the guy next to him threated to throw his hot coffee on him.

Another guy was swearing at a guy with a guitar for hitting him with the case. All this was just in a hour of riding.

Do you think people more agitated on the subway around Christmas? They seemed in a better mood on my October trip, but I'm no expert.
2 days ago, I saw two men jump a man on the platform. Very disturbing. I also saw a guy walk off the subway bleeding prior to the fight from a different incident. All I ask for folks to remain vigilant during these holidays. People are angry about being lonely which causes emotional distress. Or people are angry over money.

That was what I was thinking. I had read more suicides near the holidays, some get depressed.

I saw a man pull out a knife on someone in the train car because he was "touching his jacket." This happened maybe 2 months ago? I also had a female try to cuss me out last Christmas because I accidently stepped on her shoe in a packed train car. I kindly removed myself from the situation. I don't think the holidays make ppl on the subway system agitated; there's just crazy ppl in this world and the always crowded/late MTA definitely doesn't help.

I haven't really considered why, but I will concur that I've seen more agitated people than normal on the subway here in the last couple weeks. I don't, however, find it more packed or stinkier. FWIW.

Lots of anger and an excuse to lash out or prove something. Happens in public placed like stores and shopping malls a lot this time of year. There is also a lot of anxiety in the country now that feeds the fires of aggression.

I have rode the subway twice since late August and I don't miss it at all. Bus is calmer, you can see the outside and only an occasional drunk or kook. At least this is my experience.

Stay safe everyone and best wishes for the holidays.
