Rudy Giuliani, America’s Mayor, Rolls the Dice
Alan Feuer
Chris Matthews probably spoke for many: “You’re a smart guy,” he interrupted. “You’re a smart politician. I’ve known you forever. I didn’t think there was anything wrong with you until this campaign.”
Giuliani abused 9/11 for his own benefit. Giuliani took credit for the lowering of crime in NYC which coincided with a national downturn in crime. The guy has a bull**** "legacy". If you actually study his administration, it was a mess. Many NY'ers had no delusions about him.
Bloomberg never tried to play up his legacy but the guy did a lot for the prosperity and resiliency of NYC.

He's still popular on Staten Island, that's for sure.
Only persons with any illusions about Rudy G. are those who are just like him and or play in the same ball field. This explains why the guy has a base of support in parts of SI and other "working/middle class" conservative areas of USA.
Everyone else sees Rudy G. for what he is; a racist, homophobic misogynist with a huge Napoleon complex.
Those cards are the PC royal flush. No need to think when you can play that hand. Turn off the brain and launch the ad hominem. It was an undefeated hand until it faced the Trump card.

Exactly! That's why I felt confused about this "great" legacy. Totally unreal that anyone would put him on a pedestal.
As someone who support Giuliani for President on his first run until his run in on foreign policy with Ron Paul in the debates, I will say that I can't stand the guy anymore. It seems like each year he goes a little further off the deep end.
His worst moment in this past election was when he went on and on about terrorism and how you can't defeat it if you can't say who they are. The whole nonsense (radical islamic terrorist magic words of course). Anyway, he went on about the threats we were facing...ISIS, Al Qaeda, Boko Haram, the taliban, Al Shabaab, etc. and then, instead of calling out Saudi Arabia, he spoke about Iran being the biggest supporter of terrorism. At that moment, he turned his back on the City and people of New York. It isn't Iran that supports these groups and it wasn't Iranians that planned, funded and carried out the 9/11 attacks, it was Saudi Arabia.....Rudy is a straight up clown.
