Despite Ban, New York City Had More Airbnb Rentals Than Anywhere Else in the World on New Years Eve - Hit & Run : Reason.com So people just ignore the ban and continue to rent out space.

It's like the drug war in NYC. Clearly NYC lost that war to the point where they decriminalized small amounts of weed and there is now medical marijuana.

It was the hotel lobby was tried to end Airbnb in NYC, meanwhile a lot of hotels are being rented out by the city as welfare hotels. It tells you how well the hotel industry is really doing.

Meanwhile, Airbnb hosts stick it to the man and the stupid regulations. Trump should appoint a number of free market, conservative judges.

So what's the logic here? That people don't break the law although there is a law in place? When they get fined, we'll see if it changes their behavior as a result of the consequence.

The drug war was a federal one, started by Ford, Nixon and advanced to the boiling point by Reagan. Drugs by its very movement is an interstate issue which is was a federal war on drugs. So it begs the question why you are restricting your analysis to NYC? What point are you trying to make here?

What is your understanding of why the airbnb regulations are in place?
