Jeesh. That's just plain evil. Glad you made your way back safely. Be careful next time.

Brooklyn you have

Brownsville
East New York
East Flatbush
Parts of Bushwick is still hood outer part even though it going through gentrification

The Bronx

Morisania
Hunts Point
Soundview
Mott Haven
Parts of South Bronx

Some blocks in Harlem, Manhattan dicey at late hours same for South Jamaica, Queens

NYC is a lot safer than 15-30 years but there still areas that can be sketchy

In NYC, you could be a victim in any street or area as long as there's a subway nearby. Crime can happen anywhere, burgleries more frequent in well to do areas. Muggings in middle class areas and rapes can happen anywhere if a victim is targeted and followed home. Best thing to do is be alert regardless who and where you are.

There are still plenty of hood areas, but not ones that are super dangerous

East Flatbush is actually relatively low-crime.
Check out the crime map.

East Flatbush has less crime than Flatbush.
