Wow this thread is super hijacked. I think it would be great for ukstudent if someone could actually give her some useful advice instead of just arguing over semantics.

Yes, I have seen white women with their babies and strollers. Only from Time Square and up. But then it seems to stop once I get to the 150's. This is just my observation. It's weird, I live in Queens and I have yet to see a white lady and her baby going up the stairs with their strollers. It's usually a bunch of hispanics that I see. Sometimes INDIANS .

Lots of white women with strollers in the subway where I live. But when I go to Manhattan I don't see many. But then again I'm not looking for them either so who knows.

White woman with baby stroller here LOL. We have a car, and our child care is at home, so hence you wont see us much on the train. However, if we do take public transportation once in a while we fold up the stroller to get on the bus, and we also fold it up when going on the train. We have carried it up the stairs (my husband or both of us together) when the baby was young and maybe sleeping or was lighter. But I must tell you, I cannot see how someone is able to carry that bulky stroller up and down those stairs. I think it may be because I'm a shortie at 5'1" and a half. So I can't get the stroller that far off the ground. But I have lifted weights for years and I am very strong and fit, my legs are majorly strong as is my back and chest. However, it just seems so awkward to carry the stroller. So its easier to either carry my baby and the stroller folded up, or now my baby is 2 and can walk the stairs. Again, we rarely need to take the train because of the car. So that's my story if you, OP, are still around to read in this resurrected thread.
