So last night on the news Cornell joined the others...but not Columbia. It's sickening as they have a HUGE endowment. My daughter is a freshman...all A's first semester...but they give NO merit scholarships and are tight with their funds. We can't afford it with things as they are now.

Has she considered transferring to Cornell?

Seriously for NYS residents there are divisions of Cornell that are publicly funded (the "statutory colleges") and will charge the tuition of a SUNY.

We are not NY residents. I am having her do a transfer application to Cornell, however, just to see the difference. Thanks for your help

Tuition is ****ing bull****. If you can't afford to go to a school with a great name, go to a community college or get into the trades. It's cheaper and you can end up making more money then college graduates with bachelor's degrees.

Yes, they did come out today with a better package. I am hoping it will help us. Believe me, I have no objection to any other schools, but when you are lucky and bright enough to get into a top school, you should be able to go there. That's why I am trying everything to keep my daughter there. We've just had really bad financial luck and she shouldn't have to suffer.
