They will be providing a FREE Shuttle buses running the Length of the Peninsula as "east" and "west" routes serving Jacob Riis Park All the way to B36 street...In sync to meet with departin and arrivin boats!!! This is a GODSEND!!! I for one love riis beach becuase it aint as crowded but always been a ***** to get to..Deblasio Definitely Got it Right with this One! Ill definitely be utilizing this this summer. Its also good for just getting to the Rockaways in general. Before this it was the Aganizingly long ass A Train with a transfer to the rock prk shuttle OR the 2 to flatbush then the long q35 to riis...The New Ferry will take an Hour. Its Gonna Be. Let's just hope all of the ghetto people don't invade the beaches down there with their loudness and everything else like they do with Orchard Beach and City Island.

Unfortunately I gotta agree with you. Im sure the "ghetto" will stick to using the current setup to reach Rockaway...For now at least.

I guess the Rockaways won't be getting that Rockaway branch train service reactivated as they were hoping. DeBlasio wouldn't allow it because it would nothing for Brooklyn, and as we all know, we pay taxes so that Brooklyn can keep gentrifying.

Its about time Brooklyn started getting some kind of preferential treatment

Well that's great news. Will it use metro card, since it'll be the city operating the dam thing?

Nope. No metro card, but it costs the same as the bus or subway.

Brooklyn is being greedy. There are people in Queens that have such limited transportation option just to get to places were jobs are, and now Brooklynites can get to Queens beaches faster than they even care.
