daycare in NYC
My partner was offered a job in NYC. The final paperwork has not been signed. Here is the conundrum/catch 22. I can't find a job until we have daycare lined up and I can't pay for daycare unless I have a job.
We can get by on what my partner makes, but we wouldn't have much left over. We do not have a place lined up to live yet. it will probably be contingent on where we can live.
How long are wait lists generally? Here in Atlanta, they can be anywhere from 9-12 months, but you can usually get in earlier than that in some of those places (4-6 months). The company will pay for corporate housing for 3 months so daycare won't matter, but we need to narrow things down...like can we get daycare in 9-12 months in Brooklyn/Mahattan/Queens. Which boroughs are easier to find daycare in?
One thing I am finding is the ages for acceptance. Our daughter is about to be 9 months old. Many places i have found only take kids 2 years and up.
Any ideas about this?
