I was there when it happened on my vacation. My hotel was the Hyatt Centric right there off Broadway and 45th. I was in little Italy when the whole thing happened. That totally could have been me walking back to my hotel. F-ing piece of shyt. I signed the barrier. So horrible

and this is just another reason why there should NOT be pedestrian plazas in the middle of streets. whos bright idea was that? oh wait, it was Bloombergs idea to make pedestrian plazas, what a retard.

The pedestrian plazas all need to be razed and be put back the way they were.

I think it is a cultural thing. Most Brits and English speaking Europeans seem to know they are called bollards. Then again bollards are far more common in European cities since they are used to block off pedestrian spaces which Americans are just starting to implement.

This had nothing to do with pedestrian plazas....dude straight drove on the actual sidewalk.
