Biker: "But I stopped at the light."
Cop (bellowing at 120 decibels) "But you stopped ONLY because you saw me."

I really could not believe my ears, but I heard it clearly as did probably most people in Times Square and Central Park.

This amuses me very much. I'm just picturing this skinny little, self-righteous bicyclist (we have all seen how they act on the road), getting a taste of having some pumped up disciplinarian reach down his throat and twist his nuts. Most will never experience that ever, never mind for any lengthy period of time.

Not commenting on the tone in which the message was delivered but "you only stopped because you saw me" is not an odd thing for a cop to say at all. Every single time a cop is in a car driving around for more than 10 min they will encounter someone slamming on brakes to stop at an intersection that they had no intention of stopping at otherwise.
