I'm really thinking that the demographic of people on this website is entirely different from most of those applying for these lotteries.

I would be ecstatic to get a micro apartment, I do not want a 1 bedroom. And yet the fact that I've never once heard back from any of the places I applied to means that people are snatching up the micros and studios.

Yet on the lottery posts here people, single people are aiming only for the one bedrooms and rejecting event the studios.

No one is rejecting studios. If I get called for a studio at the lottery that is processing me I will take it. Yet... I would never take a microstudio. What for? I already have my own rent stabilized apartment if 704 sq feet. I’ll just continue to take Ubers everywhere.

People are rejecting $2500 studios. It's not that hard to understand why.

Yeah a lot of these studios cost way too much particularly in the higher bands. Might as well go market rate on a proper 1 bedroom.

Does anyone have a sense whether the micros, studios and 1-BRs units are all leased up? I have a relatively low number in the 4000s, and I'm still hoping I might have a shot.

No real way to answer that however, people have been living there for weeks now and they could easily be market rate mixed in with preferences.

I'm still choking on those micro-studios.
I wouldn't live in one for FREE.
