Study analyzing rent to income ratio in several international cities shows that Mexico City beats Manhattan (never thought i'd say this!) as the worst urban hub for renters; with 60% versus 59% of the income being spent on housing.
Of course we are discussing about a totally different amounts:
Mexico City Annual Income: $14,500
Manhattan Annual Income: $75,600
Mexico City Annual Rent:$8,640
Manhattan Annual Rent: $44,700
So, it's not just manhatteners that can complain, mexicans take it hard as well...
