Plus you forgot to mention your GI benefits. You'll have a very comfortable retirement. You're in an union job so you cannot be fired for just any reason.

That is true and that is why people sign up in the first place. Most people don't sign up to save lives. I have cop friends, and I'm not saying they aren't good people they are but they are just like everybody else. People trying to make a living.

For example I have two friends that became cops about 8 years ago. One friend, it was a last resort for her and she did it for the benefits. She drives drunk and reckless sometimes as well, she grew out of that mostly. And she's a bit of a ditzy. I wouldn't trust her with a gun. Still love her, however.

My other friend she left a higher paying job to join the nypd, because that's what she wanted to do. Always wanted to be a cop. I would trust her with my life.

I have been to nypd functions and parties. Those men are just like any other men just with a badge. I have had relations with a few. I'm just saying people have these rose colored glasses on with cops when they make bad judgment calls and mistakes just like everybody else. They are not above the law and having a badge shouldn't be a get out of jail free card.

Thankfully, I have a PBA card. Less of my dollars going to silly tickets I would have received

The only benefit I have left is a VA home loan which is only useful if you can't otherwise get a mortgage. I didn't stay in long enough for a retirement or anything else.

Police helicopters are circling in our neighbourhood like seagulls. I guess her body is on the way to the cemetery right now.
