Guess that's why the fare is low on Megabus. No rent for a building. No benches either. Just stand out in the rain, snow, wind, sun or dark for as long as it takes for the bus to show.

Exactly which means someone should only catch the Mega Bus between May and October.

That depends on the person.

Yeah, I traveled in July and was miserable in the extreme heat/humidity and strong sun. I prefer cold over extreme heat, however, I'd have to say that I would not have enjoyed 45 minutes of waiting in extremely cold temps either. I'd have no problem waiting on a barren sidewalk for 45 minutes in most of fall and spring weather. Winter and summer weather depends on the day.

Regional rail is part of SEPTA.

SEPTA is their version of our MTA.
The Regional Rail is SEPTA's version of MetroNorth/LIRR

MegaBus or BoltBus is the best cheapest option

You can always go for Fung Wah Chinatown but your health & safety are very much in question

With the repairs going on at Penn Station this summer Megabus is probably a better option than the trains.

Greyhound can be really cheap if you buy your tickets ahead of time. That's probably your best option.
