So I filled out the application today and was told I'll be contacted in October to let me know whether or not I get in. Since this is the first apprenticeship I have applied to I'm curious as to how this process goes? What are the chances I'll be called and is it super competitive/difficult to get into? Any helpful feedback will be greatly appreciated!!
The union got sued multiple times for (and lost) discrimination some years back. Let's just say that if you're white, you don't have a good shot?
Good luck though and I hope you make it. The pay and benefits are great but if you last 20+ years, your body will be pretty beaten up. It's a tough job being a tin knocker (for those that actually put in the work lol).
Ah I see how it is. Thank you for being honest and I appreciate the feedback. Congrats to your dad on getting in and staying on board for such a long time.
