I stongly urge you to work on your spelling, grammar, and punctuation if you are interested in writing.
Your questions are too general at this point to answer. What is your budget? Do you plan on living with roommates? Where will you be working or going to school? How long are you willing to commute? What amenities do you want in your neighborhood?
We need more specifics before we can help answer your questions. There are hundreds of good places to live in NY depending on your criteria. Provide more info and then we'll talk.

Exactly what Jeffcon said. No offense but I assume you don't already have a job as a writer. So, what kind of work will you be doing and what kind pay will you get?

Well my budget right now is 30,000 dollars, I haven't gotten a job there yet and I'll be living along. Probably in small apartment would you say NYC is big in the writing department?

don't waste your time replying... she is treating this like one big mass email. Click on her profile for past posts.
In fact I think she's a troll!

No I don't already have one, but I've finished University, and gotten my degree, I'm just looking for a good place to find a job in that field.

I can't imagine you living there on $30k per year alone unless you live in the slums. Also, you should know landlords require 40x the rent in salary to have an apt. rented to you. So if you don't have a job, you don't have an apt.
There are plenty of magazines and newspapers in NYC, but if your grammar on here is any indication of your writing abilities, I don't think you'll get hired as a reputable company-just being honest.

Ok, maybe you're not a troll, just incredibly naive and unprepared. NYC is not the place for you.
edited to say: let me be more kind. You might need a stepping stone before you come to NY.

No offense, but is English your native language?
