Hi together

I'm a 18y/o guy from europe who comes to NY in this Summer.
I'm looking for Airbnb's to stay at but i'm unsure about the safeness of some areas.
The problem is: In internet you can read a lot of sentences like "if you don't walk alone at night it should be fine". But if I'm travelling alone I have no option? For example: If I'm in downtown till midnight and then coming to the appartment in Union City/Weehawken; could this be "dangerous" ?

Most areas are safe, some are not. You need to evaluate each one separately.

THe only problem with getting to Weehawken or Union City is that some of the buses get iffy after Midnight.

i haven't planned to stay longer in Manhatten than midnight. So there aren't problems else? And it's not dangerous to walk alone in Weehawken/Union City at midnight?

Why? You're 18, visiting, looking for a cheap place to stay, and are concerned about safety.

Things tend to get stolen in hostels if you are sharing a room with others. I don't blame him for wanting his own room... I would too.

That said, some hostels do have private rooms...

Those areas are fine it's just that the buses and trains may not run all night. The NYC subway system does not service NJ... you need either a bus, the PATH or NJ Transit and I know NJ Transit stops running after a certain time.

Not all hostels have them and if you have a big bag it sometimes doesn't fit.
