Lately he has been portrayed in not such a good light in the media. The MTA epidemic is not helping either. What do you guys think ?? I think NYC is just a hard city to run especially when the 70 year old train infrastructure has run its course and is crumbling ... seemingly at the same time.

De Blasio scores best job-approval rating of term, Quinnipiac poll finds | am New York

“Remember all those news stories about how Mayor Bill de Blasio was in political trouble? Well, he ain’t,” said Quinnipiac pollster Maurice Carroll.
The new poll showed that de Blasio, a Democrat elected in 2013, would defeat two front-runners for the Republican nomination for mayor: real estate executive Paul Massey and State Assemb. Nicole Malliotakis, of Staten Island.
De Blasio would beat Massey 63 to 21 percent and Malliotakis by 64 to 21 percent, Quinnipiac said. Four of five voters said they didn’t know enough about either Republican to form an opinion."

There is lots to find fault with De Blasio on but he has little control over the subways and most people realize that.

As of right now it looks like he will be a shoo in.

He will get re-elected despite anything he does. The opposition is weak. The only way to change mayors in this city is when they become unable to run due to term limits.

His supporters got to suck on NYC taxpayer's left tit his first term, but there's still the right side to be milked. I even registered to vote for the first time ever just to vote against him this Nov.

I think he will get re-elected. He had a clumsy start but eventually found his footing after two years. The "MTA epidemic" is squarely the fault of the state government, not city hall - media initially ridiculed him for this and his blundering attempts to chase Cuomo for money but it looks like the electorate finally got educated on the root cause of the problem (probably after the Penn Station/LIRR meltdowns). Unless he causes a financial crisis, I would not mind seeing him win.

You mean until. With the amount of free handouts and spending that has been done under his watch, it's not unless. It's a matter of when.
