Long story short, I need to get to 35 Journal Square tomorrow, and I don't want to take the wrong route...I'm researching it now, but figured it wouldn't hurt to ask here in addition, as some of you may be very familiar with that train line and the routes.

Mapquest tells me to go to the PATH train at 9th Ave in the Village, but would I not also be able to take the PATH at 34th St to get there, or is that the wrong train? Another search result says to take the A or E to WTC and transfer to the PATH there. I just want to get there quickly (once I'm in NJ the directions are pretty simple).

Thanks for any assistance.

Basically, not all PATH trains from 34th st go to Journal Square, some terminate at Hoboken. Same with WTC, one route goes to Hoboken as well. I haven't used Mapquest in years (in favor of Google Maps), but those algorithms sound wonky. 9th St Path is the same line as 34th st, and in fact you will probably have a higher chance of getting a seat at 34th st.

I think maybe there are more trains that go to Journal Square from WTC? But that doesn't really matter so long as you either get on the right one at 34th st or transfer to the right one somewhere along the way. It doesn't cost anything to transfer unless you leave the station, just like NYC.

Thanks, Javawood, MUCH appreciated. Hoboken is one of the few places in NJ I've been--birthplace of my idol, Francis Albert Sinatra--but I'd be pissed if I ended up there accidentally tomorrow.

You've been a gbreat help, thanks again, be safe.

Whether you take the PATH train from 33rd (at Sixth) or fron 9th Street, just make sure you get on the one that says Journal Square on the outside, not the one that says "Hoboken".

beware of the PATH train it is a no tolerance no food/drink allowed. If you do eat/drink do it on the down low or you'll get a summons. And if you're thinking about jumping the mickey mouse turnstiles you should know that they are watching you...

Why do you need to eat or drink on a twenty-minute train ride? Piggy types leave garbage on the train, that's why it's not allowed.
