Really? Do you mean white as in someone from Scandinavia or white as in someone from the the areas surrounding the Mediterranean? Because there are "olive skinned" whites just as there are "olive skinned" blacks. Jennifer Beals (the lady who starred in the movie Flash Dance) is 1/2 African American, as an FYI. Also whether or not you consider someone to be black isn't the point. It's how they identify themselves through their familial and cultural heritage- which is kind of the whole point of responding to the comment about the lady not looking Native American. That being said, others may TREAT them differently based on how they look but that doesn't necessarily change how they feel or identify with their heritage.
