There is definitely an "Amerindian" apprarance shared by all original peoples of the Americas.
But it's worth pointing out that a lot of self identified Native Americans in the US are mixed with non Native or have very little Native blood. I'm not saying that's the case with these people, but when you see a self identified Cherokee who looks indistinguishable from a white or black person, that's likely the case.

Native American is a cultural identity that is highly correlated with an endogamic genetic population, but not exclusive to it. In other words, Natives who marry outside the tribe don't just kick the mixed race children out. A lot of tribes in the Northeast are still mainly indigenous blood, but certain ones have had a high rate of intermarriage.
For comparison, think of it this way, some Jews look Middle Eastern, others look central European, but they both share a genetic lineage despite some mixing, and more importantly, their culture and religion is what makes them Jewish, not racial purity. Well, same with Native Americans.
That said, I know some Natives out here in New Mexico where we host the world's largest annual pow wow, The Gathering of Nations, and I have heard some Navajos and Puebloans say some nasty sh- about Pequots who have black features. They say the same about tribes/individuals with white blood, too, but not nearly as bad. Kind of weird and sad, I think.

I'd have the same comment if it was a redhead with freckles or a blue eyed blonde. They could all have some Native American heritage like Elizabeth Warren but like her she doesn't look Native American. If you saw that dancer in some other setting you would think she's Native American? Your observation skills may not be very good.
