Here is a link to an article I saw today from The New York Times. I know some people who live here it's not bad if you have lots of $ believe me, what do you think? Here is the link: https://nyti.ms/2tIOYXE
the people that write for the new york times, especially anything real estate or life style related need to go ftswad. i hate the phrase tone-deaf, but it is so appropriate. google half the writers and ull see most of them are heir and heiresseses of the old school publishing industry, it's disgusting. total fart chamber
Nothing to see here to people. Mill Basin has been the same more or less going back even 20+ years ago. Only thing that has changed is Old Mill Basin, which was all white. The whites there have moved out or died out and blacks have been replacing them. Mill Basin is too expensive to see any serious demographic changes and it is isolated so there is no need to flee. Can remember hanging out down there with friends or whatever. Still mainly Italian-American, but a bit more diverse than years past. Back in the day, did not see many blacks and it was a shock to see any walking around. The areas with similar demographics would be Bergen Beach (expensive, but a tad bit less expensive). Gerritsen Beach is much cheaper, but isolated and very clannish. Usually families stay there and pass down the house to their kids. Have friends that grew up down there and their parents and siblings still live there. These areas were mainly Italian, German and Irish back in the day and Gerritsen Beach overall still is. Bergen Beach and Mill Basin have mainly been Italian and still is overall.
