You have to search on the NYC School Map. Here is the link:
NYC Department of Education Maps

I believe you may have to attend school within the district, meaning, wherever you live in the city, that will determine what high school your kid can go to. When you go to the link, enter your address, and it should provide you with information about which district you fall under.

If you don't want to be limited to your district, NYC has 4 or 5 specialized high school, like stuyvesant high school, The bronx high school of science, Brooklyn Technical High school, etc... These school, your kid has to take an exam for. Not every student can make it.

*Small correction: High Schools are not zoned, and opened for all to attend throughout all 5 boroughs (including Governors Island).
