I think its more so based off income and household size. I have 2 little kids and I fall into the income for a 2bd

Did a little investigating (Since the office cant give much information). I found out they have an inspection on 02/01. Hopefully after this inspection we get some good news. Fingers crossed !!

I just got an email saying I was approved, my certification coming up next week for a building in Greenpoint. Does that mean that the city HDC also approved me? And my main question, I was qualified for a studio and 1 bedroom, but the email says I was approved for a studio. Not sure based on what they don't want to give me a 1 bedroom. I'm thinking maybe they just want to see my reaction to it, and if I want 1 bedroom. I really want to ask them for 1 bedroom, but then don't want to loose both. PLEASE, advise, I really don't know what to do. I haven't replied to the email yet. Looking for some advise. Also, the building I've applied for has at least 10 more 1 bedrooms.

I'm sure it depends on the management company. I've noticed some allow you to review the apt before HDC approves your application, some dont. The apartment size is based off family size and income. I suggest you view the apartment and then casually ask about it. Asking doesn't mean they take you off the list for the studio.
