I had my "interview" (very liberal use of the word) and the process seemed very disorganized. Your basically just dropping off your paperwork and filling out some more in a room full of other applicants (basically inside of the office's break room). The whole thing felt like a waste of time. I read the handbook on how these things should be conducted and they don't seem to be following it at all.
1. They're supposed to conduct the "interview" in a private setting where your personal info is not audible or able to be seen by others and basically you talk to the person in a crowded room full of the other applicants.
2. They are either supposed to charge $25 or $50 based on income for the credit check and I saw they told everybody it was $50 including a woman that is on section 8 ( something I should've not overheard except every one was in the same room.) I didn't make a big fuss because I'm supposed to pay $50. They are also not supposed to demand that you pay for a credit check until after you have been found to be eligible. By the way they only accept money order something they fail to mention. I suspect that they don't even conduct credit checks for most people who are found ineligible and just pocket the money.
3. They are supposed to keep peoples files in a private place and I'm not certain but it looked like the prior applicants info were in boxes in this room.
I wanted a chance to explain that one of the paychecks that I provided contained my annual bonus. The person that collected my info didn't seem to want to hear it. I highlighted it and made a note but I feel like they might ignore it and it might throw the whole income calculation of out wack. I'm not one to make a big fuss about things but if I'm rejected cause they didn't want to take the time to let me explain my income, I'm bringing all of this to light to whatever agency governs this.
BTW this management company neglected to get a faulty elevator fixed in one of their buildings and a young man in his 20's died on New Years as a result.

Totally get that but definitely was a little surprised by the vibe in there. Felt like I was in the welfare office.
Um. cuz you were. hello, we're looking for subsidized apartments. Of course everyone is acting like vultures for these apartments. When we do this on our own it's hard, cuz the poverty pimps are out there snagging these apartments, hells it used to be 60/80/100 AMI and now cuz of all the complaining and the desire for new votes locally, it's 30/40/60 :/ and they throw bones in for 120-130 AMI. it's soooooooooooooooooooooooo disgusting, but no one has our backs.
i suggest going to HR and asking for a pay decrease if you are a long time employee if you want to qualify for these apartments. It's absolutely disgusting.

the poverty pimps have advocacy groups that make money via non-profits that literally RECRUIT applicants for these apartments. trust me on this. they can get a 5000 dollar bounty for snagging someone an affordable apartment. the market is there and there are dirtbags exploiting all of this with resources none of us have.

LMAO - love the way you posted this twice .
I quoted for a 3 Times the charm post cause it’s so true - meaning the part about being in a welfare office. Let’s face it, if we’re not making enough for a one bedroom luxury rental, we are basically all welfare peeps in comparison.
