She wouldn't have gotten the seat had it been me. To hell with her and her kids.
If you get on the train and then come stand in front of me and wait for me to notice you standing there huffing (assuming I'm going to give you the seat), you're in for a surprise. On the other hand if you're obviously handicapped OR have the sense to ASK politely, then boo, there's a seat for you. Pregnant hoodrat comes on and assumes she's going to 'be treated like a lady' while saying nothing and assuming I'll get up for her? No deal, and I give not a single drop of damn.
More likely than not this is an 'entitled' idiot who wouldn't do the same were the roles reversed.
She wasn't a hood rat though. She was a professional looking African American woman with blue mascara.
Okay so I was standing on the subway. Then I found an empty seat. And a woman without any shame said "my kids are sitting there!" Now I understand if you are a mother and have three kids. If you were to be polite about it I would have happily given my seat to you. But imo she acted like she owned the MTA or something with that attitude of hers. Not even a thank you either. The nerve of some people.
I'm not sure that's rude, just nervy.
You should have just sat. And if they were small children, it would have been interesting to ask "Luckily they're younger and more energetic than I am. By the way, did you pay four fares?"
When I used to take the subway, I would only give up my seat to the elderly, handicapped and women who were clearly pregnant.
Those hyper little rugrats can stand!
