You guys have some strong political knowledge. The vast majority of voters don't. The vast majority of voters are going to vote for a president based upon: being female, being black, being gay. Things like that. Most voters are voting based upon those things while they know nothing else about the candidate.

Oddly enough, The candidate's stated opinion on Abortion seems to constantly top the list of deciding points in an election, particularly for the self-proclaimed "Pro-Life" folks.

That didn't work out so well for Hillary even though she got my vote.

Indeed. That is why all this BS about Republicans being the good guys and Dems the bad, a long time ago, is a waste of bandwidth.

The main themes have not changed. The Democrat strategy changed when they realized they lost the war on slavery and civil rights. So they switched things up by ensuring as many people and corporations as possible require some sort of government support, and naming anyone that shows restraint against this centralization of process of all mighty government is now a closed minded racist bigot. They even go as far as create economic crisis to guarantee their services are in demand.

Just about every German agrees that Hitler was evil.

Even Trump is calling these Confederate statues beautify and indication of American culture and heritage.

The problem is that many see the monuments and see something to celebrate. Some that is odious and indication of evil.

I suggest that these statues be sent to a site and called KKK Land. They can worship them to their delight and the rest of us will learn exactly what these statues symbolize.

Some one said today that the South lost the Civil War but won the narrative. Given that NY wasn't a confederate state why do they seem to be several streets, and monuments commemorating those people? Why can one drive around rural USA outside of the South and see the Confed flag?

NY fought against the Confederates even though many of the merchant class support the continuation of slavery.

No need to commemorate the enemy. I haven't seen any monuments to Stalin in NYC, or to Ho Chi Minh. Or to whichever British king who the USA fought against to win independence.

I learned something today.

1. JFK and LBJ were Republicans.

2. Barry Goldwater was a Democrat

Hmmmm. I think some one listens to FOX to much or to "Alt Right" propaganda.

Any one knowledgeable will know two things.

1. The Dixiecrats were not the same as the Democrats from outside of the South.

2. Nixon set out to win over white southern votes in 1968 knowing that most had antipathy for the Democrats because of LBJs role in the Civil Rights legislation.
