there's a reason, much like we ALL suspected having gone through the grueling process... Favoritism is RAMPANT for these apartments. So what does it feel like to be wait-listed now?

Sadly its not a one off. My friends building she's in, got audited for giving apts to people not on the lists. That person was fired from the office after they did the investigation.

It may be corrupt, but this is a program for coops, not the lottery apartments that are much discussed here.

From the article:
The Tenant Interim Lease program is intended to aid tenant organizations in developing self-sufficient *co-ops where residents can rent apartments for nominal cost — in some cases for as little as $250 a month. Tenant associations are supposed to select tenants, who are then approved by HPD.

Yeah, but corruption is rampant all throughout the city. The fact that there was corruption found in the co-ops program simply shows that there is corruption period - people would take advantage if they are able to regardless. It's like finding a roach in your kitchen. Believe me, it's not the only one there - it's only the one *you* saw. This is why all of these lotteries should be audited.

Most people I know just pull their own family members in the building.
