I wonder if its a New York thing or is it just me, but I think most people in this city are content to be friends via text messaging only. There are people who live in this city who you will not see in person or talk to over the phone yet they think its ok to maintain the friendship via texting.
their excuse is that they are always busy, I think that the new Yorkers go to, that they are busy
some people I aint see in at least 2-3 years but they will religiously text, I hate texting only because its like you never get to know the depth and character of a person this way only
I think its so natural to just text that we have lost the essence of building bonds
after a while even the texting relationship becomes dry. I feel like I always have to be the one to put effort into trying to meet up with people and then its tiring after a while.
I don't know about anyone here, but if that happened to me, I'd think the person who's texting wouldn't want to see me. Some people just have a cellphone addiction and find it necessary to text for whatever reason.
They're not interested in the person, only in receiving and sending text messages. Call it weird if you'd like, but it's a form of what Internet Addiction was back in the 90's. Or what talking on the telephone for hours on end was back in the 80's.
I remember the old days of talking hours with friends in high school, not that it was productive but talking to people or meeting up once in while gives you insight into the person more than dry ass texting.
I don't mind texting as long as it's interesting, and I'm not the sole person carrying a conversation.
