Apples and oranges. Jared had child pornography, was a pedophile and I believe actually had sex with a minor (I believe she was a prostitute). Weiner was sexting with a 15 yr old...he didn't have sex with her. Not that he's any better but the crimes are completely different, imo.

yeah but parole isn't freedom though. People point to criminals getting out early buy they are prisoners in society, they have to report to a parole officer who can force you to come in for a pee test at 4 am every single night if he wants to. They need permission just to leave the state. Weiner is going to have double problems because he's going to be a registered sex offender which means if goes anywhere near a school or place with kids he can get hauled back to jail.

He's probably going to wish he can stay in that jail forever

Oh, I don't disagree with you at all. I'm just wondering because of who he is. We've seen countless times celebrities/politicians violating their parole and get slapped on the wrist.

Like I said, Weiner is going to jail because this is a high profile case and one that caused damage to Hillary because it the evidence in question had classified emails on his laptop. He's being thrown the book basically because he contributed to Hillary's election loss.

It's such ashame that more serious crime like Hillary's mishandling of emails, Abedin's copying of classified emails should all be given jail sentences because they are federal crime.

His sexting is a joke compared to Hillary's crime.

well that goes without saying, 21 months for never laying a hand on anyone is harsh any way you look at it

yes, I know its apple & oranges. The prosecutor did seriously consider charging Weiner on child pornography as well.

I was using the yardstick of 15 years verses 21 months between the two crimes.
