Esplanade Gardens. We had veterans status also. Feels good to own a piece of stock property and not have two pay rent. Best investment ever !

Update: August 22nd we received the first letter telling us of the availability. October 26th we were told we were accepted. We are closing or signing the papers (whatever you want to call it) on November 1st. So it took approximately 9 weeks from start to being accepted.

Now I have to plan the move! We have until the end of November to leave the apartment we are in. We have been moving every year for a long time now, it will be so nice to be settled for a long time. I hate the whole moving process but it will be worth it! I also have to change schools for my daughter mid year but hopefully she won't ever have to do that again.

Trixie, a word of advice:
If you plan on a new floor in the future, do it NOW. (I am SO sorry, I didn't do it before we moved in with all our furniture.)

Thanks, Kefir King. The floor is in good condition. It's the kitchen we need to replace

The sad story of my life with those ceramic asbestos tiles. One of the biggest mistakes I ever made was not doing the floor, but if you qualify for M-L, you don't usually have reno money falling out of your pockets. In SBT, since it was co-op, they fixed NOTHING.

Out of the 6 Esplanade Garden buildings, which is the best? The ones on Lenox seem so separated from the other four near the courtyard, but I imagine the 2 Lenox buildings have great views of the Harem River.

Trixie, how do you like Goddard Riverside? They just closed their lottery for those apartments. Crossing my fingers and hoping I get a log number. I hate to sound greedy, but I like to hedge my bets with all MLs and go where I'm chosen first.

I would love to be in the area of GR!

I just an update on the old Housing Connect website. Now it gives you info about your selection whether your Log # or "Not Selected." This is a nice update, though late, so entrants know to expect an application or not.
