I recently got an invitation to interview for this property but am thinking on passing on it.
I don't remember applying for it and must have by accident. Far Rockaway is just way too far... so I really don't think this is for me. The beach is nice and all but I am not really a beach person. I hope me passing up on it someone else gets it that really wants it. I feel like in the next few years they are really going to build up that area. The views in some apartments I've seen online were beautiful. I was log number 2***.

Hi Sunshine, just go to interview. You never know. I live in building and it’s great. The building is very well kept. The porter cleans everyday. Including Sunday’s. I have no complaints. It’s far yes. There’re still some vacant apartments in building. Good luck.

You guys just randomly apply for places? Don't you think this screws up the system for others? Why not apply for what you really and truly want?

Now somebody else who prolly really wanted and needed that spot.

Gotta wait extra because you just decided to randomly apply.

Humans, man....

Some people apply to EVERY lottery that opens just for the thrill of seeing what log # they get :/ I agree, i wish people only applied to apartments they realistically have a shot for because it adds to already ginormous number of people who applied so chances of getting randomly called are so much slimmer because of all the housing connect thrill seekers. Go buy a scratch off or check your stupid facebook page for a quick dopamine rush!

HAHA! This made me chuckle. I'm not the type to argue and go back and forth on the internet, but I understand your frustration which is why I am not going on the interview just to go and make it harder for other people nor waste my time if I know I am not interested. If I decline the next person in line goes. There is no difference because I am not dragging out this process and going back and forth. I really don't even remember even applying to this apartment. It was 100% by accident! Believe me there is nothing worse than finalllllllllly getting a call for a lottery and it not be for somewhere you would even consider. Think about it. Makes no sense. I Also do not apply for every single apartment and not a "HC Thrill seeker" (funny). Anyway, have a great day and my apologies to you if you think I "took your spot".

How does one accidentally apply for affordable housing?

Just keep it real, you applied for 12 gazillion places at once, with reckless abandon

I just dont see how you accidentally do it. It's the Internet, we don't even know you, and still cant even be honest on here LMAO, now that makes me chuckle

So if they pass on the apartment then they contact the next person? No one is losing g out. Your logic is flawed, SeventhFloor.

How is my logic flawed? They wasted their time to contact you and you dont even want it. Why not just apply to places where you actually have an interest in living at? Or at least keep it real and say you're applying to a million places. Sob stories.

If you had to pay to submit for these lotteries, people would have a lot more consideration and not take it as lightly. You wasting people's time.
