Today I witnessed 3 people near the infamous junky's McDonalds near 35th st and 8th avenue. I noticed some of them seemed to be fading away and losing their balance as they stood near the curb. I looked this up and it's often referred to as 'the dope fiend lean' My question is where are they shooting it up and who in the area is supplying them with drugs ? Are there drug dealers in that vicinity and if so then why aren't police cracking down?

Are you really serious? I know you're serious about the dopers being there. But anyone has been able to get anything (drugwise) they want at any time for decades now.
I know but this is happening in the public. We are in an opioid epidemic and drugs & junkies are pouring in the city. There's actually a public restroom in Seward park on the LES that has been closed due to shooting and needles.
It will get the job done: test people with instant-read drug kits; a positive means a bullet in the head and recycling as animal feed or fertilizer or something more useful than a public nuisance (organ harvesting, maybe, if these junkies have anything in working condition still).

Druggies in or around Penn Station? Well I am just stunned. Stunned is the only word I can use to describe how stunned I am....
Don't know where you've been in NYC but people are staggering about all over totally out of their mind on heroin. Live on the UES and see it regularly enough as also when moving about various areas of Manhattan or even Staten Island.
In case you've missed the memo; heroin is all over NY, NJ, Conn, LI, and pretty much the entire country. So many are strung out on the stuff ERs and morgues in many areas don't have enough space to deal.
Last Friday on my way home I saw one of them passed out in the sidewalk, a bunch of people around him trying to get medical help.
