Well, I've been there at night but not super late. Still, I wouldn't call the neighborhood seedy because of what happens in it's nightlife strip late at night.

You clearly just didn't know much about the area. The prostitutes are still there they went inside more or online. There were other bad parts of Queens in the 80s and 90s. Queens ridge, Lefrak City, Jamaica, and Far Rockaway.

It's seedy. If you are using public transportation you get on on Roosevelt and there you are at night. Having lots of people selling social security cards in and of itself is seedy.

Jackson Heights was never particularly dangerous though.
