which is why we should be thinking about it now before crap hits the fan. Sooner or later resources are going to run or someone is going to push the button. There are tons of resources in space and no regulation.

I'm not counting empty luxury condos. THe 7 train barely got extended. They should extending the subways and creating new commuter tunnels or the northeast is going to fall behind.

Los angeles might sink into the city.

Can cops check to see if you're driving while high?

There are not accessible resources in space and none of the planets in the solar system are inhabitable. So Space is really of no real use to people, and they won't be.

You've been watching too much Star Trek or too much sci-fi. The nearest solar system is light years away, meaning traveling at the speed of light it would take years to get there. Meaning no spacecraft is going to get us to any other planet.

People will have to learn to use, manage, and recycle resources on earth.

Now smoke some weed, pop some pills, and stop worrying about stuff you have no ability to change.

Yup. Just like legalizing garbage pickup caused the Mafia.

And you're not an engineer.

China is so polluted that they have to ware masks to leave home. They aren't taking our food. Large numbers of Chinese move out of China to all countries around the world.

Engineers have nothing to do with the science of space travels, or verifying science fiction. Physicists can do that.

Anyone with a knowledge of basic science would cast extreme doubt on the viability of interstellar travel. But if you know of a legitimate journal with actual academic sources that has published a way for this to happen, please post the link.

Bud? I literally have never heard pot called bud in real life or on movies/tv. I thought this thread was about Budweiser.

A population that destroys a world to which evolution has made it uniquely qualified stands less than zero chance of survival in a hostile environment.
Space travel is a huge boondoggle designed to get corporate claws onto the Treasury.

Man went to the Moon, big deal. Net value for humankind: NOTHING.

I think we should be concentrating on more colonization on the moon and mars first.

Probably have to invest more in propulsion, artificial gravity, and radiation shielding.
