it's not the worst place, it isn't half as bad as a place like mott haven.
but be aware it is the 'hood and has many issues you'd associate with places like that

Walton ave is hotter than most. It goes from the 150's to 190's I think......It's the hood just know that. On 183rd on New Years there was a stabbing. Personally Walton/Morris aren't all that great strips. And yes I think that in certain sections, it's worse than Mott Haven.

SuperMario......you break my heart with your stories of my old stumping grounds, used to hang on 182nd st and sing in the tunnels under the Concourse, met my first boyfriend at Creston JHS on 181nd St. Sang with a group of girls on Morris and 183rd St. Back then the early 60's, things were fine, pride in owning or living in an apartment building, clean sidewalks, you could buy food on credit and on Friday walk in and pay. Kids would play all kinds of street games, there was no video games, kids were all outside, and there were always "eyes" everywhere, you didn't dare hit/kick/stump/punch anyone or else your parents would know by the time you got back home. A new generation has taken over our past, but oh, if those buildings could talk.
Seems like a different world today......keep up the great posts, I enjoy hearing about what's going on, but sad, that things don't stay the same.

That area of Walton Ave is probably the best of a not so great area in general. Be aware that there was a shooting with multiple victims in the street on 151 and Walton (a block or two south of 721) in January. So I would say the area is not great, but not nearly as bad as many surrounding areas. The 4 and the d are close too.

But I've been on Walton man...lot of dealers....and cause a block is dead dont mean that is good. Stabbings dont happen everywhere either...hasn't been one around my way in a long time. In a second it can get hot. Especially with the drug trafficking. The ghetto is just that. I personally think Walton is one of the worser street names in the Bronx.
Also most of the Bronx is dead...but that's in comparison to the early 1990's. Dont mean it's safe you feel me man.

lol..mario i just finished saying how the only thing going on around walton ave is the drugs.my ex girl used to stay around there so i was fond of that neighborhood & when i say dead i mean as far as life & drama.things happen once in a blue, the neighborhood weed pushers didnt cause to much trouble they kept to theyself.the dude jts put it in good words when he said its a good strip surrounded by worse blocks..walton is by far not the most dangerous street ,creston would go up there as well as the concourse(blocks around walton)
