We <they> even voted down the feasibility study. I guess there are lots of people who are frightened of facts with hands over their ears shouting "LA, LA, LA, LA."

So, we are stuck for 22 years and the deal is too good to walk away from so for me it will be an exit with a tag on my toe.

As soon as people hear the word "privatize" they stop moving out in the hope of a big cash windfall.

Best time for vacancies is immediately after the failure of a vote, and before they start trying for a new one. Or when they sign up for a big loan that commits them to ML for 10 or 20 years.

So... you're saying there are going to be a lot of vacancies soon at EMP?

Not sure how this complex is going to vote. Although, this complex has been going through this for many years without privatizing but it's hard to say at this point. They are getting the feasibility study done as we speak. Tha next vote could be before the end of the year but again who knows these things drag on. Hopefully it will stay in the program and we will make it in!

I thought Kefir King said they voted down the study in May and thus are still in the program for another 22 years?

Ah, I thought he lived in EMP!

I am always confused about who's who on these boards. I hope EMP votes no. I don't really want to live there, but I hate seeing complexes go private. It is so greedy... disgusting.

I am in Ruppert House. (93rd and Third)
They tried privatization twice, but never got beyond voting down the feasibility study (most people didn't want to spend $100 grand on it.) Last vote wasn't even close.
Last election (for 3 of the new board members with the 3 strongest voices against the feasibility study won handily, so that, as they say, is THAT.( I voted for the study but I am content with what I have.) It is a nice place to live. Anyone who gets the chance to live here should take it.

For those who do not know, these privatizations take 3 votes, the feasibility study by a simple majority of apartments, then two more votes that need 2/3 majority to privatize. I am not sure how far along EMP got. Did they get even the feasibility study the last election?
