Look at the cuisines represented in the East Village. Probably every cuisine you mentioned plus many more. And not just the ethnic stuff but regional US styles like barbecue, southern food, New England lobster rolls, etc.

To be fair, we probably shouldn't be comparing residential outer borough neighborhoods with dense Manhattan neighborhoods where many people work and play. But for the purposes of this thread, the East Village wins when it comes to the sheer variety and overall quality level.
That's a good point, the East Village has my vote as well. The LES is also pretty good.

You think regions of Italy win over the entirety of Mexico?

Which region of Italy?

Italy, France, Japan, and China. Not Mexico.

Tacos are very diverse, not comparable to the rest. Taco is just a vehicle for the food, what makes the dish is what is put inside the taco. You can get spicy chorizo, you can get al pastor, you can get steak with cilantro and guacamole...good legit tacos are very underappreciated

Could say the same for all the rest. People getting way too hyped off a freaking taco.

That's fine. You agree with me then. You can collect all the opinions in the world, that is what the outcome would be. Definitely not Mexican.
