Even the Mouth of Albany (Andrew Cuomo) couldn't keep off that subject and had to rub peoples noses in things.
Unfortunately, all those private organizations suck up tens of millions of dollars and countless other resources putting on their parades.... so everyone pays, big time, for the parades. That's why all the parades should be inclusive.

Since it is impossible for groups to have their parades without sucking up public resources the best solution, which I would certainly be in favor of, would be ban all the parades completely . Then the organizations couldn't feel "beaten down" by politicians insisting on inclusiveness. End of story.

Why would they do that? The politicians don't take the subways they take Uber and private limos, that's why Uber get to walk all over the TLC and fast tracked deals to make them legal while middle class folks are ignored. Didn't matter you paid $300k or $1m to the city for a medallion that is worthless because it's not important to politicians pockets. Uber also lobbied$$ hard to get them legalized. I know plenty of NY politicians depend on Uber and they don't ride the subways.

It sounds like Essence House, the new 'Blacks-Only' self-segregation dorm at my university.

I don't think parades should be banned. They are FUN for a lot of people and celebrations are important. But since they are using public resources including police protection and taking up public space, they have to INCLUDE everyone plain and simple.

And no one said the organizers of these parades felt beaten down. That was an OLD poster here, yearning for the pre civil rights era.
