Can anyone recommend an area in nyc that is young, lots of restaurants, accessible transportation and come to city. Budget as mentioned $3500 (1 bedroom)and I prefer a new building in a safe area so not sure if Manhattan would work for my budget.

I'm thinking Williamsburg or Astoria but which is better? I only need one bedroom not looking for anything more. Both seem cool but I'm uneasy about L train situation in Williamsburg. Also not sure about commute into city from Astoria. If you had to choose between the two what would you recommend?

Also, I'm open to any other recommendations for neighborhoods. Long Island city maybe? It seems dead though. Transportation is very important as I frequent Manhattan daily. Especially Chelsea area. I want to stay close in proximity to Manhattan. Thank you!

No offense but... is this post for real? A 1 bedroom is easy to find in Manhattan with your budget. If you are in Manhattan often, just stay in Manhattan. Doable on your budget with money to spare even in Chelsea. Have you done any research at all?

Please don't come to Queens. I am begging you. Astoria has been gentrified enough. Let us please have our neighborhoods back.

Yes I am being for real. I am interested in a newer building only with gym, laundry, club room, pool and I have not found many options in manhattan. Most of the building are older. I'll take a look at your links.

I looked at your links. The apts are within budget but I am looking for newer buildings which is why I'm looking outside of manhattan. Thanks though.

Confused as to why people are being rude? Next time I'll try reddit.
