Lottery is closed!

We are in it to WIN it!

(I'm going to wind up in the NY Daily News: "Girl has housing lottery gambling addiction")

This is near 10 Freedom Place, right? That neighborhood seems so deserted... warehouses and car dealerships.

I had to check Housing Connect, so uninvolved am I now in specific lotteries, but I actually did apply. There's more than 200 apts, with many bands. I worked in this area many, many years ago when it was even less developed (coming from the East Side, I used to walk from the R on 7th Ave.) It's fine. If you can get an apt here, I wouldn't quibble about the location.

There are SO MANY large buildings going up along the far west side of Manhattan from 34th to 59th (Hudson Yards in the West 30's to the new "Waterline Square" at West 59th). That area used to be solely industrial. It will be interesting to see what the area looks like 5 years from now. It used to be (and still is) so deserted, but I can't imagine that it will stay that way with the number of people moving there now needing everyday retail like banks, pharmacies, cleaners, etc.

Oh, I had no idea you won. I thought you've just been applying nonstop all this time. Thanks for clarifying.

We'll all be in our 70s or 80s, and we can hold each other up, given how long this takes. Stormgal, you should write a book on navigating the lotteries.
