What fresh new hell is this?

Get a letter from Con Edison today "welcoming" me to the Home Energy Report program.

Never heard of the thing much less signed up but never the less the thing goes on to tell me that am using more electricity than my "most efficient neighbors". Eh?

Following comes all sorts of graphs and charts comparing our household with most efficient and average users from the area.

What the eff is this all about and who came up with this brilliant scheme to shame people into using less electricity? I pay the flipping bills each month and thus am well aware of how much power we use.

I also received it. I am not too far off from the most efficient neighbor. I pay like $20 to $30 more than they do.

I guess the grid is stressed with all the new housing developments and ConEd needs our help in consuming less electricity not to overload the grid. They should shut down Times Square from 1am to 6am. They should make all new building developments have solar grids installed.
