That and the same people who pull the "where do I put my MetroCard?" when getting on a Select Bus.


Last Wednesday after work got on the M79 and Broadway and some older guy gets on with that nonsense, driver waived him past (as usual). Have seen him pull that stunt at least six times over past few months.


Guess they figure if the diver waves them past if caught by MTA inspectors they will avoid getting a ticket for non-payment.

NFC is the way to go. It’s commonly used, can be done as a plastic credit card like tap card for constant reuse or embedded into paper cards for more limited use; it’s more and more being built into smartphones to be used just like a tapcard. Why are we wasting time and money with this bull.
