Offers Chance to Improve New York City Subway, Bus Service
Transit advocates say the technology for the new fare-payment system will let the MTA offer passengers more options

Oops. I just realized you have to be a subscriber to read the rest of the article. Sorry for those who aren't subscribers.

Personally, I'm all for a new kind of Metrocard system because the current metrocards get scratched up so easily. I'm tired of going to the token booth clerk because it's either not readable anymore or expired.

Gee. what if there were an alternative that wouldn't scratch? Something more durable? Like, say, METAL TOKENS.

I'm tired of STILL watching people struggle to put a Metrocard in the correct way on the bus.

When I used PATH, I just tapped my WALLET with no need even to remove the SmartLink card.

.

And InPrivate browsing doesn't work either. The $12 for 12 weeks intro is tempting for paper and web combo.

Oh...umm....you probably saw me.
I don't ride the bus often enough to remember which way to swipe. I try to see the sticker showing the proper way to swipe but on some buses, they don't have those.

I always try to remember that it is my picture that must be looking towards the driver. My bytch is that the bus machines often grab the card so tightly that I am afraid of tearing it in half...and then back down to Stone Street.
