“Let’s suppose that when Ben Carson, a black man who spent his career as a neurosurgeon, was named head of Housing and Urban Development in the Trump administration, it wasn’t because he “grew up in the projects” (which turned out to be untrue).

Let’s suppose that the administration needed a willing black face to be the one to drive all of the black and brown people out of public housing. Housing that coincidentally, at least in places like New York City, nests atop some of the most prized real estate in the country.”

Plausible.

This has no merit of truth. NYCHA will be around well after Ben leaves his seat. The government has to come up with a comprehensive plan to house the poor, besides stripping NYCHA of funding. NYC will turn into a full on bloodbath, like present day Chicago. all stemming from the deconstruction of Cabrini Green and it’s projects if the federal government even dares to fathom the thought of ending NYCHA w/o a plan

Well it is just a conspiracy theory, but based on some of his recent actions and statements it doesn’t seem so far fetched.

I visited some old friends in ASTORIA PROJECTS recently where I grew up. as anybody in NYC can tell you the LONG ISLAND CITY waterfront is HOTTTT right now..
They built hi rises all along the waterfront theres the FERRY in the handball courts... CitiBikes on 27th avenue the buildings already up back in Hells Gate where PAL park was our running track
the whole block of 27th Ave was purchased that backstore was there since the 60s
GOODWILL INDUSTRIES where the disabled live is reportedly being sold as well
Rent late ONE MONTH you best to git to court in a hurry
NO Smoking allowed even in your own apartment!! just another reason to get kicked out
they built a FENCE separating the waterfront from the projects my whole childhood was spent sitting on a bench on that waterfront looking across the water at Gracie mansion and the FDR Roosevelt Island I can still hear my lil brother screaming BIG BOAT BIG BOAT when those huge tankers came down the East River and blocked the whole Manhattan skyline
they removed wooden benches and replaced them with METAL who wants to sit on a hot metal bench in the summer? they making it very uncomfortable ... intimidating even
dont get caught with a beer on a hot summer night... you going to jail
its too much too fast
Gentrification ??? I think Not they gonna take the PARKING LOT and build another building right in front of your WINDOW SAD SAD SAD
Throw your hands in the air, and just wave em like you just don't care... Oh no that be the po po.
