Default Brooklyn to JFK

Hi,

I just started working in Brooklyn and am staying at a place right near the F train (York Ave stop) I have to catch a 6:30 am flight next week from JFK. Is it safe enough to ride the F train to Penn Station around 3:30 am (or the A or the C - High Street). The car service from Brooklyn in $40-50. Was hoping to not have to spend that when the subway is so much cheaper...however, if it is highly advised that I not take the subway that time of night, then I'll deal with the car service, unless anyone knows of any alternatives. Thanks!

It is cheaper for super shuttle within Manhattan, more expensive in the outer boros though you are often closer to the airport.

I would take the subway myself but I'm a 6'3" guy. Another option is to call a local car service for a ride to Penn Station. Arecibo gets $22 to Penn Station, but they only get $33 to JFK. Cheaper than the supershuttle.
