Do you have Section 8 with NYCHA or HPD (100 Gold Street)? Send me an email here. If you know your Community District #, include that (or approximately where you live). I work with HPD Section 8 voucher holders. If you tell me the specifics, perhaps I could help or could hook you up with a collegaue who can.

BTW, that offer stands for anyone in the Bronx w/ Section 8 (I do HPD Section 8 clients). Also, if you live in Brooklyn or Uptown Manhattan, I also have colleagues up there.

If you have section 8, it is becoming increasingly difficult to find apartments in NYC, including the Bronx. Have you ever considered transferring your voucher to another state, where you can have a much better quality of life, good schools for your kids, a decent home with a yard for them to play, safe streets, and a real community? There are significant numbers of section 8 tenants that are relocating to better areas like North Carolina, Atlanta, Florida, Pennsylvania, etc, where they are providing themselves and their kids a much better quality of life. Talk to your case worker about transferring. There are abundant homes in good neighborhoods throughout the country, where you can start fresh and provide a good life and education for your kids. The city is tough, and trying to find a decent apt with a section 8 voucher is becoming near impossible. Good luck either way.

She can also stay right in this state, close to the city about an hour or so away from the city, rent a house or a large apt with section 8. Another advantage to this suggestion, is that the hospitals and doctors offices are not crowded like the city. If you are in need of emergency service you are seen right away. The normal visits wait time is also pretty fast.
