There are some places in Nassau County that are 90% white, but not 99%. A lot of places previously thought of as lily white, like Levittown, have sizable Latino and/or Asian populations.

The dirt that goes on in Bushwick isn't necessarily concentrated around the PJs as in most other hoods. In Bushwick most of the subsidization are in the old tenement buildings, that with time can be converted off the programs to market rate, which has already been taking place as we all know.

Levittown is anywhere from 80% to 88% white, with 8% to 12% Latino/Hispanic; hardly "sizable" IMHO.

However like other towns out there such as Garden City, the usual suspects have plans to bust if not tip Levittown using the "disparate impact" angle.

Whites that live out there pass those homes onto their children, grandchildren, or whatever; few go onto the open market which makes it hard to bust the place.

8-12% is sizable, that's way past token status. And I bet the percentage among the younger generation is even higher.

I'd agree that it's not really sizeable but considering the fact that people act like the white population in neighborhoods like bedstuy, east harlem, etc rising from 2% to 5% or whatever is a a GENTRIFICATION GENOCIDE makes me want to exaggerate it to, lol.

I don't think the term "sizable" implies a massive presence, just a notable one.

Bedstuy is a lot more than 5 percent white. East Harlem is a lot more than 5 percent white too.

I grew up in North Bronx in Co op city and we had a couple white students, I think they lived by Pelham Bay.

It was a culture shock to me when I first started working in manhattan after college and it was the totally opposite. All white and very few latino/black people.
