Yeah I read the immigration statistics for Flatbush and it's Haitians followed by Jamaicans/Trinidadians for Caribbean immigrants, but Mexico and Pakistan are in the top 5 for all groups
I was shocked to see that there were more Mexicans than Jamaicans
Church Avenue by the Q train is all Mexican now
Wasn't like that when I was a kid
Actually it used to be way more Haitian around Church Ave and East 19th. A few of them are still there.
Yeah but Church Ave west of Flatbush is str8 Mexican now

Brooklyn used to be a former city, remember, with different sections
It's still a little city
so everybody's there anyway
Flatbush and Church is like one of the busiest interesctions in the city
Flatbush got Kings Theater
Flatbush is a swinging place...
Somebody is gonna make a duplex pre-war on Ocean Avenue for 1M
When that happens then get scared, 4 real
Flatbush is one of my favorite neighborhoods. If I ever become rich and have millions of dollars at my disposal, I would buy one of those Victorian houses over a brownstone or luxury condo in Manhattan
Flatbush (east of Ocean Ave.) was practically all (secular) Jewish through the 70's, till the West Indians took over. There were still some elderly Jews remaining in the 80's and 90's.
But now Mexicans and Pakistanis are heading east, and seem to be replacing West Indians, to some extent. And the Orthodox Jewish community is growing eastwards.
But I think West Indians are still holding very strong in East Flatbush and Canarsie (which also has some Italians still).
If you meant to write West initially, I know elderly secular Jews who still live there.
Also, I think West Indians are still holding very strong in the Eastern part of Flatbush proper. And yeah, East Flatbush is very heavily Caribbean still, and the neighborhood has one of the highest black percentages in the city.
